Yorkshire, Cumbria, and The Lake District
May 13- May 25, 2025
We had such a great time on our Yorkshire, Cumbria and The Lake District trip last spring, we decided to make 2025 bigger and a little longer!
We’re keeping the things we loved with a focus on British sheep and wool (of course). We’ll have classes with Susan Crawford, and Ann Kingstone, visit with my yarn and regenerative farming heroes Maria Benjamin, Zoe Fletcher, and John Atkinson from Nibthwaite Grange Farm, Lake District Tweed, and The Woolist.
We’ll still visit Beatrix Potter’s home, Hill Top Farm, the home of the Brontë sisters, the Brontë Parsonage, and spend the day at Muncaster Castle, an 800-year-old Lake District castle.
Here are some of the things we’re adding for 2025
We’ll have color class with legendary Rowan Yarn designer Marie Wallin. We’ll have visits to West Yorkshire Spinnery, Gam Farm – a farm specializing in British rare breeds, a shopping trip and talk at Wensleydale Longwool Sheep Shop, and a free day in York.
Just for fun, and because they are things Janine and I adore, we’re going to the Keswick Pencil Museum and touring and tasting at the Wensleydale Creamery (Cheese, Gromit!).
Just like always we’ll have time to wander and shop. We’ll stay at wonderful places, eat delicious food, and have adventures all over northern England, won’t you come along?
